
Tips for Talking with a Student
The following are tips for talking with a student about whom you are concerned:
- If you wish to raise your concerns with the student, it is best to be supportive and straightforward about your concern for his or her welfare.
- Speak specifically about the behaviors that have raised your concern.
- Speak to the student in a non-judgmental, respectful manner.
- If you are uncomfortable discussing your concerns with the student, you are urged to utilize the assistance of one of the referral resources.
