Committee Accomplishments
- Unveiled "What's In Your Cup?" a passive campaign which is designed to educate people in the University community with facts regarding alcohol use and abuse. Stickers and placards with the logo and facts appear most frequently in campus dining venues.
- Completed Environmental Scan in 2009-2010 academic year to gather information relative to alcohol use and abuse in our University community.
- Gathered and organized data from current assessment efforts relative to alcohol use and abuse in our University community. Sources of data included the Loyola Survey, Alcohol.Edu Surveys, Office of Student Conduct, and American College Health Association-National College Health Association Survey. This information was presented to key constituencies in the campus community. Presentations of this information are ongoing.
- Administered the Faculty and Staff Environmental Alcohol and Other Drug Survey to University faculty and staff in Spring 2011 to gather their insights relative to student alcohol use and abuse in our community.
- Supported the Center for Health Education and Wellness in their efforts to increase programming for Late Night at Scranton. This initiative provides alcohol-alternative social opportunities for students on Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday nights.
- Collaborated with other departments to offer Off-Campus Education Sessions that are designed to provide important information to students who are considering moving off-campus for their junior and/or senior years. These sessions cover the University's Off-Campus Behavior Policy.
- Developed and implemented Royal T.A.P.S. (Teaching Alcohol Preparedness for Students), a one-hour alcohol education workshop that is mandatory for all first-year students. The interactive workshop is designed to assist in educating students about the alcohol culture at The University of Scranton, University policies and
Commonwealth laws, and on-campus resources. Royal T.A.P.S. was required beginning Fall 2011.

Applied for a Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) grant to assist in curriculum infusion opportunities during the 2012-2013 academic year.
- Hosted a collaborative meeting with Scranton Police Department, University Police, and MAI committee members to discuss proactive prevention strategies as well as enforcement strategies for addressing off-campus behavior involving alcohol abuse.
