INTERNSHIPS

The University's commitment to internships and other types of career-related learning experiences as an integral part of the educational process is strong and growing since the Fall of 1995, over 1,500 students have enrolled in for-credit internships related to their majors or vocational goals.  For Credit internships require that students be supervised by a faculty member and an onsite supervisor, and that they develop a set of clearly defined learning objectives, internships responsibilities and an assessment plan.

You will find applications for the accounting internship program in the secretary's office, Brennan Hall, Suite 343.  Attached to the applications are the rules you will be following with both your school internship advisor and also your on the job supervisor.

Your internship will include input provided by your on-site supervisor, a paper to be handed in at the end of the semester, journals regarding the academic value of your internship.  All three of these items are important components of your grade.

Students must remember to take care of all paper work and get approval before beginning an internship program.  I am looking forward to working with you for the semester of your internship, and I wish you good luck.

                Sincerely,

                Brian Carpenter, Ph.D.
