A Message From University President Kevin P. Quinn, S.J.

Through our strategic plan for 2010-2015, The University of Scranton advances a vision of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, that his companions would be inspired to “go and set the world on fire.” Our plan consists of three themes chosen because each captures something distinctive about Scranton.
Cura Personalis reminds us that as a community we provide an education that reaches students as individuals with unique gifts, talents, anxieties and weaknesses. The Magis challenges us to be restless in our pursuit of excellence and yet grateful for the many blessings we enjoy. Rei Solicitudo calls us to shepherd our resources well. The ambitious and interconnected goals linked to these themes seek to provide a transformational education for students, one that is engaged, integrated and global.
We undertake this plan with pride in our accomplishments, confidence in our passionate commitment to realizing our dreams and hope for the bright promise of our future. Together, we will help our students to discover their vocation “en todo amar y servir”—“to love and serve in all things.”
God bless The University of Scranton.
Kevin P. Quinn, S.J.President
