Why?
Studies show that 13% of hard drives fail in their first year. We see dozens of failed hard drives throughout the year at the Technology Support Center. Sometimes the drives fail because of a drop or a spill. Sometimes spyware or botnets infest the machine and it needs to be reimaged. Sometimes the drive just fails without warning! The Laptop Support Center will not back up or restore your data if your hard drive fails or your computer needs to be reimaged!
Solution:
Buy an external hard drive and back up your data - it is as easy as that.
You can buy a drive for as little as $70 and just drag your important folders to it. Or you can invest a little more in a drive that comes with its own backup software to do this for you automatically.
Take charge of your data!
If you think it is important, it should be in at least 2 places.
