What better way to bring Scranton home this holiday season than with a Monopoly game customized for the Electric City? A new game called "Scranton-opoly" features The University of Scranton along with other Scranton institutions and businesses. The game was developed by economic development agency, Scranton Tomorrow, and One Point office supply company. Lady Royals Basketball Gathering
Join us on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 for a gathering of former Lady Royals basketball players. Reception will begin at 6 p.m. in the Rev. Bernard McIlhenney, S.J., Ballroom following the women’s basketball game. Game time is 4 p.m. The Lady Royals will be playing Merchant Marine Academy in the John Long Center. We will be traveling to Los Angeles, San Francisco and several cities in Florida Feb. 28 through March 4, 2012. Join us as we get together with fellow alumni, parents and friends at various receptions, brunches and even a Yankees vs. Phillies spring training game. Registration will be open in January.

Shamrockin’ Eve 2012 is set for Friday, March 9, 2012! Alumni from the Classes of 2007- 2011 are invited back to campus to join the senior class for some food and drinks, live music, and plenty of Irish shenanigans. Mark your calendars now! Registration will open in February.
Planning Begins for Day of Service 2012
On Saturday, April 14, 2012, gather with alumni in your area for the third annual Scranton Day of Service. The Alumni Office is currently seeking volunteers to organize service projects in regions outside of Scranton. If you know an organization or community project that could use the help of Scranton graduates, contact alumni@scranton.edu by Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012.

Daniel McGarrey ’88, Matawan, N.J., has rejoined Morgan Stanley as an executive director in the Technology and Data Division. Dan is head of Financial Management and Senior Business Manager for Cross Technology Services.
Patricia Savage ’89, Hollidaysburg, was a guest at the White House as part of a day-long event with other leaders from Lutheran health and human service organizations across the country.
Maryann DiPaola Frisbie ’91, Allentown, N.J., joined the Internal Revenue Service as an internal revenue agent.
Christopher Attig, Esq. ’93, Dallas, Texas, was named as a 2011 Texas Rising Star Attorney by SuperLawyers.com. Rising Stars are ages 40 or younger who have been practicing for 10 years or less.
Joseph Payne ’00, Norristown, co-authored a book called "Managing Indirect Spend: Enhancing Profitability Through Strategic Sourcing." The book was recently published by Wiley & Sons publishing, and Kathleen Daly ’08 also contributed content.
Mary Kenney Cirigliano, D.O. ’04, North Bethesda, Md., completed her Family Medicine residency at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown, Pa. She is currently working as a family practice physician for Kaiser Permanente.
Vito Cirigliano, D.O. ’04, North Bethesda, Md., completed an Internal Medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is currently pursuing a gastroenterology fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Lindsey Collins Praino, Ph.D. ’06, New York, N.Y., received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Neuroscience from the University of Connecticut. She is currently employed as a post-doctoral research fellow in Cognitive Neuroscience at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Janelle Caso ’10, Mahwah, N.J., is production stage manager for the Goodwin Theatre in Philadelphia.

The Class of 2011 included women’s soccer All-American Nicole Bayman ’01; four-time women’s soccer all-regional selection Amy (Connolly) Fabel ’01; two-time men’s cross-country All-American Joseph Fent ’01; women’s swimming All-American Sarah (Gazdalski) DalFol ’01; three-time women’s basketball All-American Kelly (Halpin) Fisher ’01; John Kelly ’ 79, who has served as the official clock operator for basketball games at the Long Center for nearly 40 years; and Carlos Loureiro ’83, a member of three NCAA Final Four men’s soccer teams. Michael Wolk, MD ’84, a board-certified physical medicine specialist with Northeastern Rehabilitation Associates, will give a presentation on “Spasticity Management After a Stroke” at Wayne Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 8. To read more, click here.

To read more, click here.Jesse Burke Hallinan ’07 was notified by the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners that he successfully passed the July bar examination and has been admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He earned his Juris Doctorate in May from Widener University School of Law, Harrisburg. He currently serves as a full-time volunteer attorney for North Penn Legal Services of Scranton.
