Cadets Selected As Distinguished Military Graduates
On Monday, Oct. 26, U.S. Army Cadet Command announced that three students from The University of Scranton had been selected as Distinguished Military Graduates for the 2011-2012 School Year. Seniors Emily Rainey, Evan Dimakas and Sidney Jaques were all recognized, as well as two other seniors from the Royal Warrior Battalion. To view the full release, click here.

Pet Therapy Rescheduled for Wednesday
Due to last week's poor weather, the Community Outreach Office rescheduled this semester's Pet Therapy: Canines on Campus for Wednesday, Oct. 5, on the DeNaples Center patio and Dionne Campus Green. Intersession/Spring 2012 Registration Information
Registration for Intersession and Spring 2012 courses will begin for undergraduate students on Wednesday, Oct. 26. Specific dates, as well as what students need to do in preparation for registration advising and to register by web, can be found in the e-mail sent to students on Sept. 29, and also on the Registrar’s web page at www.scranton.edu/registrar.
What do undergraduate students need to do now?
First, pick up your registration materials at the following locations:
- KSOM students at the KSOM Advising Center (Brennan Hall 206);
- PCPS students at the PCPS Advising Center (McGurrin Hall 101);
- CGCE students at the CGCE Office (O'Hara Hall 201);
- CAS sophomores, juniors and seniors at the Registrar's Office (St. Thomas Hall 301).
- CAS freshmen: The CAS Advising Center has set up an advising appointment for you. Pick up your appointment letter, along with your CAPP and registration forms, in theCAS Advising Center (St. Thomas 309).
Third, complete your registration worksheets and forms and then meet with your advisor to review your course selections. Your advisor will then provide you with your registration start date and term PIN needed to access web registration. [Note: You will also need your correctUIS PIN. If you do not know your UIS PIN, you may access the online self-service PIN reset program, or contact the Technology Support Center at 941-4357 prior to your initial date of registration.]
Fourth, be sure to clear any holds you may have on your account from the Bursar, Student Affairs, Library, Network Resources or Public Safety before your registration start date so that you can access the web registration system. Students who have holds on their account will not be able to register until they satisfy their obligations.
Web registration instructions, dates, and course listings, as well as the dynamic Course Schedule Search, are available through the Registrar’s web page at www.scranton.edu/registrar.
IEEE Club Hosts Weekly Meeting Thursday
The Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a program that provides students with the opportunity not only to participate in a campus wide event in the form of an IEEE seminar series (presentations by distinguished scientists, community business leaders, as well as our alumni and various employers/prospective job companies), but also as a time and place to pursue the club agenda, professional development and networking.

October’s First Friday art-walk throughout downtown Scranton
is going to have “College Night” as its theme. Student groups will be performing and exhibiting art,
including the University’s Men and Women for Octaves at St. Luke’s Church. The Hope Horn Gallery’s “Taiwan
Sublime” exhibit is also featured. First Friday is free and runs from 6 – 9 p.m.

Brunch in the City with the Lackawanna Historical Society, Oct. 9
