In anticipation of the upcoming Inauguration of its 25th president, Kevin P. Quinn, S.J., The University of Scranton is hosting a series of on-campus events this week. The events continue this evening with an Inauguration Lecture by world-renowned human rights lawyer Rev. Frank Brennan, S.J., in the Rev. Bernard R. McIlhenny, S.J., Ballroom of the DeNaples Center at 7:30 p.m. The lecture is open to the public and free of charge.

On Thursday, Sept. 15, the University will host the Inauguration Eucharist in the William J. Byron, S.J., Recreation Complex at 4 p.m. Most Reverend Joseph C. Bambera, D.D., J.C.L., Bishop of Scranton, will serve as celebrant. Reverend Michael C. McCarthy, S.J., executive director of the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education and associate professor of religious studies and classics at Santa Clara University, will serve as homilist. A dinner on the University Commons will follow. 

The highlight of these weeklong events will be the Inauguration of Father Quinn on Friday, Sept. 16, at 11:30 a.m. in the William J. Byron, S.J., Recreation Complex. A luncheon on the University Commons will follow.

In conclusion of this memorable week, the University's Performance Music choral and instrumental ensembles will host the Inauguration Concert in the Houlihan-McLean Center on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m.
