University Welcomes New Science Center
The first thing visitors notice upon entering the expansive, newly constructed portion of Loyola Science Center is what isn’t there – walls. Hundreds of Scranton alumni gathered in their hometowns for various alumni events and activities this summer. From baseball games and golf tournaments, to beach parties at the Jersey Shore, happy hours in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., and the annual Family Fun Day at Monmouth Park, alumni volunteers planned plenty of summer fun for the Scranton grads in their regions. Men's Basketball Golf Outing
Date: Sept. 23, 2011
The annual golf outing will be held on Friday, Sept. 23, at Stone Hedge Country Club in Tunkhannock. Download the registration form. The Scranton's men's baseball squad will welcome alumni players back for their annual alumni game on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Connell Park in Scranton. Maureen Brady Coyle ’97, New York, N.Y., director of Study Abroad at Felician College, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to study and observe educational developments and international education in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Dr. Kevin Krenitsky '89 joined Foundation Medicine as COO in June 2011, bringing 15 years of experience in building and managing global diagnostic and biotechnology operations to the company. John S. Farrell, M.D. '96, will participate in the 2011 ING NYC Marathon on Nov. 6 as part of the Ryan’s Run Team. WNEP’s Ryan Leckey will lead the Allied Services team for the second consecutive year. Dr. Farrell has competed in numerous 5K and trail races, as well as in three half marathons. Megan Zukoski Azar, D.D.S. '98 spoke to The Times-Tribune about the upcoming Dr. Thomas E. Zukoski Memorial 5k Run/Walk, which honors her father who was a pediatrician in the Scranton area for nearly three decades. To read more, click here.
Colleen Kramer '01 was recently hired as director of sustainability services for Springleaf Strategies, a marketing and sustainability consulting firm. She will work with clients in an advisory role, as well as provide strategic planning for environmental and social responsibility programming, employee engagement and training, and grant writing.
