On-Campus LSAT Workshop Offered

A workshop for those preparing to take the Law School Admission Test this fall will be offered by Frank Homer, Ph.D., professor emeritus of history. The workshop will begin on Friday, Sept. 9, and end on Friday, Sept. 30., with sessions on the three Saturdays and Sundays in between. Further information and registration forms can be obtained from Dr. Homer at homerf1@scranton.edu or by phone at 941-6399. Registrations should be submitted by Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Would you like to welcome prospective students to campus? Do you love The University of Scranton? Apply for a position in the Admissions Visitors' Center.

We are looking for local freshmen and sophomores (from Scranton and the surrounding area) with excellent interpersonal skills that have the following availability:

Fall: 

  • Monday: 8:30 - 11 a.m.
  • Tuesday: 8:30 - 11 a.m. 
  • Wednesday: 8:30 - 11 a.m. 
  • Thursday: 8:30 - 11 a.m.
  • Friday: 8:30 - 11 a.m. and 1 - 4:30 p.m.
  • Select Saturdays: 9:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Interested applicants must also be able to work some breaks, intercession and possible summers.

Downtown Scavenger Hunt Sept. 2

Last week, 86 RAs toured downtown Scranton. Check out the story here. Now is your chance to see all that the downtown has to offer! All students are invited to participate in a Downtown Scavenger Hunt that will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, as part of Fall Welcome Week. The event will be a fun and interactive way to explore downtown Scranton. Registration will begin at 3:30 p.m. on the DeNaples Center's patio. The Scavenger Hunt will run from 4-5:30 p.m. and will end with a downtown reception at the Vintage Theater leading into First Friday. Major prizes include a $200 gift certificate to The Mall at Steamtown and two tickets to "In the Heights," a Tony Award-winning play presented by the Broadway Theatre League at the Scranton Cultural Center in November.
