Graduates Begin Medical School at Jefferson

Six members of The University of Scranton's Class of 2011 began their medical school careers at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia by participating in the white coat ceremony on Aug. 5. Pictured (front, from left) are Mathew Murphy of Scranton, Brandon Kujawski of Scranton, Anthony Stefanelli of Thornhurst, (back) Maria Gubbiotti of Falls (M.D./Ph.D. program), Karl Oberg of Narvon, and Lauren Nicholls of Jermyn. The University of Scranton's overall 2011 acceptance rate to schools of medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, podiatry and optometry is 80 percent.

DeNaples Center Parking Announcement
The turning circle next to the DeNaples Center is a no parking zone. This area is used for the Colts bus stop only. Please do not park your vehicles in this area. The bus cannot make the turn when vehicles are parked in the circle. Any vehicles parked in the circle are subject to a $50 ticket and towing and the tickets are not eligible for appeal. Thank you for your cooperation.

Scroll to bottom of page and you will see University of Scranton and to the right click on Join.
Fill in all of your information. It is very important to fill in your T-shirt size because this is where I will get your size for your "Team T-Shirt." Deadline to register for our team is Thursday, Sept. 8. Please help us to spread the word and email this to anyone you know who might be interested in participating.

The Sixth Annual Latin Pride Weekend Festival August 13
The Sixth Annual Latin Pride Weekend Festival will be held at downtown Scranton's Courthouse Square on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 1 to 7 p.m. The Latin Pride Parade will be on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 1 p.m. The festival offers live music, food and family fun. Schemel Forum Light in August Thursday Night Events in Downtown Scranton
The Schemel Forum is joining forces as a programming partner with Pages&Places@Anthology to present three programs in August. This series of conversations is designed to shed light on subjects of both current and enduring interest in a friendly, informal setting. All programs are free and open to the public and will be held at the Alley Coffeehouse at 515 Center Street in Scranton. Eats and drinks begin at 6 p.m.; presentation and discussion begin at 7 p.m.
