Scranton’s Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi Names Teacher of the Year

Scott Reilly, a lecturer in the Education Department at The University of Scranton, was recently named Kappa Delta Pi Teacher of the Year by Scranton’s chapter of the international honor society in education. The Kappa Delta Pi Teacher of the Year award is presented annually to a University of Scranton faculty member selected by student members of the honor society.

Reilly, a resident of Archbald, joined the faculty at Scranton in 2009. Previously, he taught at Wellington Landings Middle School, Wellington, Fla., and the Florida Virtual School.

Reilly earned bachelor’s degrees in management information systems from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, and in elementary education from East Stroudsburg University, Stroudsburg. He earned a master’s degree in teaching English as a second language and is currently pursuing his doctorate of education in instructional leadership/instructional technology and distant learning from Nova Southeastern University, Palm Beach, Fla.
