Community Events: Summer Downtown Concerts and More

Friday Noontime Concerts
Lackawanna County is hosting a free Friday Noontime Concert Series on Courthouse Square. All concerts will run from noon to 1 p.m. and are on the Linden Street side of the courthouse. The series runs from June 3-Aug. 26. For a concert lineup, click here.

Weekend Summer Concert Series
Lackawanna County is hosting a six-week free Downtown Summer Concert Series, now in its second year, aimed at attracting people of all ages and interests to the downtown on the weekend for shopping, dining and entertainment. The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic will kick off the series on Courthouse Square with a performance July 3 followed by fireworks. Concert times vary and are held on Courthouse Square (North Washington side) or St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (232 Wyoming Ave.).  For the full schedule, click here.

The Historic House Tour in the Hill Section
On Sunday, June 26, the Lackawanna Historical Society will once again conduct the very popular Historic House Tour of the Hill. This daylong (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) program brings more than 800 participants 
into several beautiful homes in East Scranton’s Hill Section.  Confirmed sites for this year’s tour include 612 Jefferson Avenue, 624 
Jefferson Avenue, 630 Jefferson Avenue, 714 Taylor Avenue and 844 Clay Avenue. For more information, including event fees, click here.
