The University of Scranton’s Mathematics Department held its fourth annual Integration Bee recently on campus for high school and college students. The format of the competition is similar to that of a spelling bee, except contestants are given integrals to calculate.

In the first round of the bee, participants were asked to evaluate approximately 20 definite integrals. Five participants in each category moved on to the final round, where they were challenged to find an anti-derivative of a single real variable function within two minutes.
