Play Foursquare Frenzy this April!
If you have a smartphone, all you have to do is create a Foursquare account and check-in to various campus buildings as you go about your day. Watch for Flash Specials throughout the month (they’ll pop up on locations as you check-in) to win one of more than 30 prizes ranging from T-shirts to an iPod. The student with the most mayorships of the designated Foursquare Frenzy venues on Monday, May 2, will be crowned the Mayor of The University of Scranton and will receive a one-of-a-kind commemorative hooded sweatshirt!

Positions Open for Summer Conference Assistants
On-Campus Housing Easter Break Closing
1. Clean room
2. Remove all trash & food
3. Clean refrigerator and remove non-perishable food
4. Unplug all electrical items
5. Close and lock all windows
6. Pull down and close blinds
7. Turn off all lights
8. Close and lock room door
9. Pack all items & valuables you will need over break
10. Bring home items to help with your May check out!
The last person to leave the room must fill out the "We’re Outta Here" form that will be attached to the room/apt. door.
Students may seek permission to stay during the break if they have extenuating circumstances (international student, student teaching, etc.) by submitting an online break request form on UIS available from April 8-19. Access to all residential areas during the break will be denied to any student who did not receive official written approval from the Director of Residence Life. THERE ARE NO EARLY ARRIVALS FOR EASTER BREAK!

Graduating Seniors: Vote for Teach of the Year
Each year the graduating senior class selects its "Teacher of the Year." Beginning Monday, April 11, please vote for the faculty member who you believe best exhibits the following characteristics:
- Maintains the highest standards of academic excellence and fairness.
- Inspires interest in the discipline through personal enthusiasm and dedication.
- Is consistently effective in communication.
- Is available outside of the classroom.
How to vote? To cast your electronic ballot, visit www.scranton.edu/toy.
When to vote? Voting takes place Monday, April, at 9 a.m. to Friday, April 15, at 5 p.m.

Attention Graduating Class of 2011! Scholarship Opportunity Available
The Edward J. Spitzer Scholarship was endowed to The University of Scranton by the estate of Marian Robling to assist a University graduating senior who will be attending a graduate program in the area of Business Administration at any college during the 2011-12 academic year.
Applications can be downloaded directly from the University’s financial aid website at http://matrix.scranton.edu/financial-aid/SpitzerScholarshipApplication202011.pdf and must be submitted to The University of Scranton’s Financial Aid Office no later than Friday, April 29, 2011.
Seniors: Enter to Win a $250 Visa Gift Card at Grad Finale
At the Welcome Alumni area seniors will prepare for graduation by updating their contact information, gaining access to the online alumni community, making their senior class gift pledges and voting for the Alumni Loyalty and Service Award. To read more about Grad Finale, click here.
Financial Aid 2011-12 Filing Reminder
Students applying for need based financial aid, including loans, for the 2011-2012 academic year must submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the Department of Education by April 15, 2011. You can apply online with a pin number at www.fafsa.gov.
"Guidelines for the Financial Aid Process” were mailed to home mailing addresses in December. Please review this publication for updated information on reporting changes in family income due to economic conditions, loan and payment plan information and granting third party access to your financial aid and student account information.
Pennsylvania State Grant (PHEAA) recipients have a filing deadline of May 1, 2011. However, students must still file the FAFSA by April 15, 2011, to apply for institutional aid.
Applications Now Available for Class Night Awards
Since 1992, the Division of Student Affairs has presented two awards at Class Night, the Lawrence A. Mann Award and the Student Life Award. The awards are presented to selected graduating seniors. Applications and nominations are open to any undergraduate member of the senior class. Self-nominations are acceptable. A committee comprised of staff members within the division of Student Affairs selects the recipients of the awards. Applications are now available in the Student Affairs Office DeNaples 201. Final applications are due April 15, 2011. Please contact Student Affairs if you have any questions at 941-7680.
Lawrence A. Mann Award
Professor Lawrence A. Mann was a beloved faculty member of The University of Scranton community for over twenty years. A professor of Latin, Dr. Mann was also a lay Resident Counselor for Denis Edward and Hannan Halls. His personal warmth, devotion to the institution and sensitivity to students along with a willingness to help plan and participate in student activities throughout the school year ensured his popularity on campus. He was a refined, kind, devout and outgoing person who served as a wonderful role model for students. The award is presented to a graduating senior who has demonstrated extraordinary involvement in student activities and through her/his contributions is a role model to fellow students.
Student Life Award
The Student Life Award is presented annually to the student who has worked diligently to improve the quality of life at The University of Scranton during his/her career.

The induction ceremony and luncheon will take place in The DeNaples Center 405 on Tuesday, May 3, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Inductees will receive their certificates of membership and society pins; graduating seniors will receive their gold honors cords.
Deadline for applications and payment of fee is Tuesday, April 19. The membership fee of $50 includes the luncheon. Applications without fees will not be considered. Please make checks (cash accepted also) to The University of Scranton and leave completed applications with Ms. Knott, O’Hara 301.
