Play Foursquare Frenzy this April!
If you have a smartphone, all you have to do is create a Foursquare account and check-in to various campus buildings as you go about your day. Watch for Flash Specials throughout the month (they’ll pop up on locations as you check-in) to win one of more than 30 prizes ranging from T-shirts to an iPod. The student with the most mayorships of the designated Foursquare Frenzy venues on Monday, May 2, will be crowned the Mayor of The University of Scranton and will receive a one-of-a-kind commemorative hooded sweatshirt!

Applications Now Available for Class Night Awards
Since 1992, the Division of Student Affairs has presented two awards at Class Night, the Lawrence A. Mann Award and the Student Life Award. The awards are presented to selected graduating seniors. Applications and nominations are open to any undergraduate member of the senior class. Self-nominations are acceptable. A committee comprised of staff members within the division of Student Affairs selects the recipients of the awards. Applications are now available in the Student Affairs Office DeNaples 201. Final applications are due April 15, 2011. Please contact Student Affairs if you have any questions at 941-7680.
Lawrence A. Mann Award
Professor Lawrence A. Mann was a beloved faculty member of The University of Scranton community for over twenty years. A professor of Latin, Dr. Mann was also a lay Resident Counselor for Denis Edward and Hannan Halls. His personal warmth, devotion to the institution and sensitivity to students along with a willingness to help plan and participate in student activities throughout the school year ensured his popularity on campus. He was a refined, kind, devout and outgoing person who served as a wonderful role model for students. The award is presented to a graduating senior who has demonstrated extraordinary involvement in student activities and through her/his contributions is a role model to fellow students.
Student Life Award
The Student Life Award is presented annually to the student who has worked diligently to improve the quality of life at The University of Scranton during his/her career.

Check Out the Online Catalog’s ‘My Portfolio’ Feature
My Portfolio enables prospective and current students, who register on the University’s online catalog website, catalog.scranton.edu, to bookmark their favorite programs, courses and other catalog content.
As registered users browse catalog content online, they will routinely see an “Add to Portfolio” link on the catalog’s pages. By clicking on the link, users can save the item in their portfolio folder. Saved portfolio items will be available for retrieval during subsequent visits to the catalog website.
To access the My Portfolio feature, visit catalog.scranton.edu and select the My Portfolio tab located on bottom of the left-hand navigational bar. New users can register by clicking on the “create an account” link, and providing an e-mail address and password. Prospective students may also request to have an admissions advisor contact them. Returning registered users need only to reenter their e-mail address and password to gain access to their archived portfolio items.
Circle K Hosts Wiffleball Tournament to Benefit March of Dimes
Roundtable Financial Scholarship Foundation Honoring Christopher M. Condron
The Board of Directors of The Financial Services Roundtable established a college scholarship fund in the name of former Roundtable chairs who have retired from the industry. The Honorary Chairs select the colleges or universities from which scholarship applications are solicited. The 2011 scholarship will be awarded to a University of Scranton student in honor of Christopher M. Condron ’70.
This is a $5,000 non renewable scholarship. Please carefully review the qualifications, criteria and application instructions listed below. The University will recommend finalists to The Roundtable Financial Scholarship Committee for screening and final selection will be made by Mr. Condron. All applicants will be notified of their application status by the Financial Aid Office.
Qualifications:
- Full time student at The University of Scranton for the 2011-2012 academic year
- Current academic year sophomore or junior student
- Applicant must meet minimum 3.0 GPA requirement
- Interested in a field of study related to or helpful to a successful career in financial services (Not limited to Kania School of Business students)
Criteria:
- Scholarship- As explained in your personal statement and reflected in your academic transcript
- Character- As explained in your personal statement and letters of recommendation
- Financial Need- A Free Application for Federal Student Aid must be on file for the 2010-2011 academic year

The induction ceremony and luncheon will take place in The DeNaples Center 405 on Tuesday, May 3, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Inductees will receive their certificates of membership and society pins; graduating seniors will receive their gold honors cords.
Deadline for applications and payment of fee is Tuesday, April 19. The membership fee of $50 includes the luncheon. Applications without fees will not be considered. Please make checks (cash accepted also) to The University of Scranton and leave completed applications with Ms. Knott, O’Hara 301.
