On Wednesday, April 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Community Outreach Office will host "Pet Therapy, Canines on Campus." We invite staff and faculty of The University of Scranton to bring their well-behaved pets to the Dionne Campus Green for our students to interact with.
If you are interested in participating in this fun day, e-mail Ellen Judge, judgee2@scranton.edu, with your name and your pet's name and breed and we'll put you down on our list. More information will follow closer to the event date.
Dogs must interact well with all ages of people and socialize nicely with lots of other dogs. They should be up to date on all inoculations as well, including Kennel Cough.
Please Complete CORE Survey
If you haven’t done so already, please complete the CORE faculty and staff survey that was sent to you on Feb. 21. It should only take about 10 minutes to complete and will help us to assess faculty and staff perceptions of Alcohol and Drug Use. For more information, contact Monica Thomas, director of the Center for Health Education and Wellness, at 941-4253 The Changing Face of Facebook
If you are a Facebook user, you have probably asked yourself at least once, “Why does Facebook make so many changes to its site?” In this Technology on Your Own Terms workshop, scheduled Wednesday, March 9, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Weinberg Memorial Library, room 305, librarian Donna Mazziotti will present an overview of the latest wave of changes made to the Facebook user interface. She will also offer a rationale for why Facebook is an ever-evolving tool, as well as reasons why users should embrace Facebook’s mission to always improve its product. After this session, attendees will grow from passive to proactive Facebook users, able to educate themselves about changes made to Facebook as the changes occur. A light lunch will be provided during the discussion. All faculty and staff members are welcome, but seats are limited, so please register at www.scranton.edu/ctleregistration (under Technology On Your Own Terms). Register for Saturday's Employee Party
Although today is the RSVP deadline for the employee celebration – scheduled Saturday, March 5, in the Byron Recreation Complex – we will continue to accept individual reservations through the end of the week. However, table reservations are now closed. Please know that this will allow for 200 seats to be available for guests that have not put together a table. Group tables may be done informally at the event. Thank you for your patience throughout this process. We hope you will join your friends and colleagues for Saturday's celebration. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will start at 7 p.m. Please R.S.V.P. at this link.
