The Admissions Office needs hosts for the upcoming Royal Nights program. Royal Nights allows accepted high school seniors to experience life as a Scranton student, and get the feel of our campus community.
The Royal Nights students will arrive on a Sunday between 3 - 4:30 p.m. and participate in planned activities that evening. They will stay overnight with a student host, and on Monday, they will attend classes and depart late in the afternoon. We are looking for current students who live on campus to host the Royal Nights guests in their rooms. Hosts meet students when they arrive on Sunday afternoon, have the option to participate in the different activities that evening, provide sleeping space, and help the Royal Night students checkout on Monday afternoon.

Irving Grossman Scholarship Accepting Applications
The Irving Grossman Scholarship is open to any student who meets The University of Scranton’s scholarship criteria. The scholarship will be awarded to the student based on merit, financial need, and participation in extracurricular and community service activities and demonstrates personal impact on fellow student. Attention all students who are juniors and seniors in the academic year 2011-2012 and whose parents' employer is a current member of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce: the Joseph P. The 2011-2012 Leslie Fay Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to children and grandchildren of former employees of Leslie Fay, is now accepting applications. The Times-Shamrock Communications Scholarship, open to current employees of Times-Shamrock Communications with at least one year minimum service, is now accepting applications. The deadline is Friday, April 15. James Burns Memorial Scholarship Seeking Applicants
The James Burns Memorial Scholarship is currently accepting applications for the 2011-2012 academic year. First consideration will be given to children and grandchildren of current or retired employees of ARAMARK. Second consideration for awarding the scholarship will be given to children or grandchildren of current or retired employees of any good service provider. All applicants must have a 2011-12 FAFSA on file. Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office located in St. Thomas Hall, suite 410. The submission deadline is Friday, April 15. Neal J. Fasula Memorial Scholarship Now Open
Applications are now being accepted for the 2011-2012 Neal J. Fasula Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship criteria is as follows:
- Employee or is a dependent of an employee of the Gerrity’s Supermarkets
- Full-time undergraduate of The University of Scranton
- Submission of the 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Applications available in the Financial Aid Office, St Thomas Hall, suite 401
The deadline is Friday, April 15. Junior Pre-Med Students Apply Now for Scholarship
Attention junior pre-med students: apply now for the Francis P. Boland, MD Memorial Scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
- Candidates for this award must be considered juniors in 2011-12 and intend to graduate in May 2013.
- First consideration will be given to sons and daughters of the Mercy Hospital family. Family is intended to signify persons affiliated with the hospital. If there is no candidate associated with the Mercy Hospital, consideration will then be given to Lackawanna County residents.
- Candidates for the award should intend to pursue a medical degree. The award recipient will be a declared pre-med student.
- Candidates must submit a profile including G.P.A., class work and extra-curricular involvement.
- Candidates must also submit a one-page typed essay expressing their goals in medicine.
- The candidate will be selected based on merit. Financial need will only be used as the determining factor for a final decision when there is a tie.
- Deadline for submitting applications is Monday, Feb. 28, 2011.

United Gilsonite Laboratories Scholarship Now Open
Applications are now being accepted for the 2011-2012 United Gilsonite Laboratories Scholarship. It is open to employees and dependents of United Gilsonite Laboratories. TRL Associates Scholarship to Accept Applications
Applications are now being accepted for the 2011-2012 TRL Associates Scholarship. It is open to sons or daughters of a former TRL employee or eligible associates, which includes sons or daughters of an employee of the Joseph Notarianni & Company, Foley, Cognetti, Comerford, Cimini & Cummins, related Cognetti Enterprises and Cognetti & Conaboy. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Gilman Scholarship Program is proud to announce the expansion of their summer awards to include all academic majors. - Receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of study abroad
- Participating in a study abroad program that is no less than four weeks; one country and no more than an academic year
- Receiving academic credit
- Study in any country not currently under a U.S. State Department travel warning or Cuba
