Scranton Alumni Tour Begins March 1
Starting with an evening reception in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Tuesday, March 1, the Scranton Alumni Tour features six alumni gatherings throughout the first week of March in Arizona, Texas and Florida. Gerald Zaboski ’87, vice president for alumni and public relations at the University, and Maryjane Rooney ’80, director of alumni relations, will travel from state to state meeting alumni and updating them on life at The University of Scranton. Baseball fans will be happy to know the tour includes a stop at the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox Spring Training Game in Tampa, Fla., on Friday, March 4. Shamrockin’ Eve Registration Now Open
Attention Classes of 2006 – 2010: Shamrockin’ Eve 2011 is taking place Friday, March 11, and registration is now open! Come back to campus on the eve of Scranton’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade for some food, drinks, live music by Blackthorn, and plenty of Irish shenanigans. To register, click here.
Continuing Legal Education Conference
The Council of Alumni Lawyers will host its first Continuing Legal Education Conference on Friday, March 4, in the DeNaples Center on campus. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with presentations running from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The CLE sessions are open to all Pennsylvania lawyers. A special networking luncheon for University of Scranton alumni will follow the presentations.
The Conference has been approved for two (2) ETH credits and one (1) SUB credit through the Lackawanna Bar Association.

Reunion 2011 is scheduled for June 10-12. If your class year ends with a "6" or "1" now is the time to start getting ready. Add your name to the planning to attend list. Registration for Reunion events and on-campus accommodations coming March 17.

Donald Myers, Ed.D., '60, Honesdale, published two books., a children’s book titled "My Life with Roger," illustrated by his granddaughter Shannon, and another book titled "How to Survive and Learn from Life Experiences."
Jack Hattman G’64, Wheeling, W.V., retired after 47 years as a professor of English at West Liberty University.
James Kocsi ’72, Port Reading, N.J., retired after 38 years of service with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Carl Witkowski ’75, Duryea, is chief operating officer of GUARD Insurance Group.
Harry Lennon ’83, Round Top, N.Y., was elected minority leader of the Greene County, N.Y. legislature for 2011-2012. He was first elected to office in 2006 and is currently serving his second term.
Bernard Costello, D.M.D., M.D., FACS, ’91, Presto, was promoted to professor at the University of Pittsburgh. He is chief of Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Kelly A. Carroll Gaughan, Esq. ’95, Milford, has been named to board of directors of the Center for Developmental Disabilities of Pike County. To read about Gaughan, visit here.
