Schemel Forum Offers Luncheon Series: World Affairs Briefings
The Schemel Forum’s Luncheon Seminar Series: World Affairs Briefings, held periodically throughout the fall semester at The University of Scranton, explores topics ranging a woman’s perspective of Afghanistan to a mid-term assessment of President Obama’s counterterrorism strategy.
At the series opening luncheon are, from left, seminar series guest speaker Mehdi Khalaji, senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East; Sondra Myers, director of the Schemel Forum at The University of Scranton; Kaytlin Roholt, a senior English and theology double major at Scranton; and Rebecca Beal, Ph.D., professor of English and theatre at The University of Scranton.
This semester's luncheon series will conclude with the presentation "Afghanistan on the Ground: A Woman’s View" by Suraya Pakzad, founder and executive director, Voice of Women Organization. The luncheon will begin at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the McIlhenny Ballroom of the DeNaples Center.
