The University of Scranton Players will present Eleemosynary at the Studio Theatre in the McDade Center for the Literary and Performing Arts Oct. 29-31 and Nov. 5-7.

The University of Scranton Players are proud to present its second show of the season, Eleemosynary, by Lee Blessing (Cobb, A Walk in the Woods), directed by Sheila Stasack.

The production runs Friday and Saturday, Oct. 29 and 30, at 8 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5 and 6, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. in the Studio Theatre in the McDade Center for the Literary and Performing Arts at The University of Scranton. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended.

Tickets are available at The University of Scranton Players box office. You can reach it by calling (570) 941-4318 or on the web at www.scranton.edu/players. General admission is $8. Tickets for students, faculty, staff, senior citizens and children are $5.

The Westbrook women are nothing short of extraordinary. But, when a stroke leaves matriarch Dorothea needing her daughter, Artie, to care for her, the homecoming is marred by the three generations of complicated, unfulfilled dreams. Blessing’s Eleemosynary paints a poignant picture on three generations of women – what divides them, what unites them, and what makes them a family.

Stasack, a long-time collaborator with The University of Scranton Players, whose previous productions at the University include Red Herring and More Fun than Bowling among others, directs Catherine Fischer, Kiley Lotz and Vanessa Relvas in this endearing, critically acclaimed work. The production staff includes Monica Chavez (lighting designer), Rich Larsen (set designer) and Je Tellier (costume designer). The stage manager is Colin Holmes; Shane Hall and Jim Shygelski assist him.
