Scranton Student Officer Receives Two Scholarships

Tiffany Roth ’11 (center), a criminal justice and sociology major at The University of Scranton, recently garnered two scholarships from two professional law enforcement organizations. Here, Roth is congratulated by Vincent Carilli (left), vice president for student affairs, and Donald Bergmann, director of public safety and chief of police.
Roth received the Mary Voswinkel Memorial Scholarship, in honor of Mary Voswinkel, the longtime Chief of Police at Rice University in Houston, Texas, from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, as well as a scholarship from the University and College Section of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Roth is beginning her third year in the student officer program and plans to attend graduate school next year, studying forensic psychology. She hopes to work in the behavioral sciences field for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Donald Bergmann, director of public safety and chief of police at Scranton, commended Roth for her dedication and service to the University and its community.
“We are very fortunate to have such a fine student officer program here at The University of Scranton, and Tiffany is typical of the student officers we have,” said Bergmann.
