All Computers Need Anti-Virus Software

To help protect computers from viruses when they connect to the University wired network (ResNet) or wireless network (ROYALAIR), Information Resources is requiring all computers (PC and Macintosh) to have anti-virus software installed, updated and running. We recommend PC users download Microsoft Security Essentials for free at www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/. For Macintosh users, we recommend you purchase Norton Anti-Virus from journeyed.com or any retailer. There are free Macintosh products but they are not rated as highly for protecting your computer.

2010-2011 Undergraduate Catalog Now Online

The University of Scranton’s 2010-2011 Undergraduate Catalog is now available online at catalog.scranton.edu. Like previous printed editions, this year’s web-based catalog contains information regarding the University’s academic departments, programs of study, course descriptions and academic calendar. The online publication also includes a wide range of University materials highlighting our Catholic and Jesuit tradition, as well as addressing student-related content, including undergraduate admission and expenses, scholarships and financial aid, and life on campus. The catalog contains a University directory with a complete listing of members of the Board of Trustees, administration, faculty and professional staff.

With the completion of the robust online version, the University will no longer print the Undergraduate Catalog. Questions or concerns about the Undergraduate Catalog may be directed to University Editor Tommy Kopetskie at kopetskiet2@scranton.edu.

Committee on the Status of Women Seeks Forum Topics

The Committee on the Status of Women has been hosting an Open Forum in the spring and fall for several years. We have had great success and participation with these in the past. Once again, the committee is seeking suggestions for important topics/issues that you would like discussed for our next event in November. Your input will help us secure a knowledgeable presenter for the forum. Send your suggestions to Dr. Marian Farrell, chair of the committee, via e-mail farrellm1@scranton.edu or campus mail.
