Photos Wanted for Commencement Video Project

We are looking for photographs to be included in the video that plays prior to the commencement ceremony at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. These photos should be of seniors involved in campus activities. We are looking for group shots, action shots, sports and club shots showing seniors.

Work-Study Positions Available in Public Relations Office

The Public Relations Office has open work-study positions in the Information Reception Center, with flexible scheduling between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Interested students must be eligible for Federal Work Study.

Study Abroad Pre-Departure Meetings Scheduled

Pre-departure meetings will be held in the red room of the Study Abroad Office Tuesday, May 11, Thursday, May 13, and Friday, May 14,(make-up day). Check your e-mail for your designated day. You will receive information packets that will be beneficial before you depart and you will be able to express questions or concerns. Please make sure to attend at least one of these days!

STUDY ABROAD INTERCESSION AND SPRING 2010
All students interested in studying abroad next intercession or spring 2011 make sure to stop by the study abroad office within the first few weeks of returning to school in the fall in order to secure your seat in the program of your choice!

Throughout the spring look out for the study aboard experts on DeNaples Center’s patio! They can supply you with information on studying abroad and give you insight into what you need to do to spend time overseas.

Volunteering After Graduation?

Are you planning to do a year or more of volunteer work after graduation? JVC? Mercy Corps? Peace Corps? VISTA? Or some other program domestically or internationally?

Apply for Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop

The 2010 AICPA Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop, scheduled May 27-29, 2010, in Chapel Hill, N.C., is an annual invitational program for minority accounting students who plan to pursue the CPA designation. This event aims to strengthen students’ professional skills and understanding of the limitless possibilities and benefits of earning the CPA credential. Through speakers, panel discussions and interactive programs, participants gain confidence and an enhanced understanding of the various career paths with the accounting profession to prepare them for the steps that follow graduation.
An all-expenses paid event, the AICPA covers the cost of student attendees’ transportation, hotel accommodation and meals.

Eligibility Requirements 

To attend, a student must:
  • Be a declared accounting, finance or tax major who intends to pursue the CPA credential 
  • Be a junior, senior, 5th year, or graduate student for the 2010-2011 academic year 
  • Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA 
  • Be actively involved in campus and community activities 
  • Have not attended a past workshop 
  • Be an ethnic minority (Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Native American; or Asian) 
  • Be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
