Join in the donation spirit Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The University of Scranton where OSDD will help your unwanted items reach wanting hands. Can’t get to The University of Scranton? Be sure to visit the other One Stop Donation Drop location, Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, also hosting the event on Saturday, April 17.
Here’s how you can get involved: Spend some time cleaning out your closets, basements attics — whatever! Then bring your items (visit www.donationdrop.org to view the wish list of accepted items), along with a nonperishable food item or $5 per carload donation to your nearest OSDD location. Donate Dresses to Cinderella’s Closet
Have a formal or prom dress taking up room in your or your daughter's closet? Donate it to Cinderella's Closet!
Sponsored by the Junior League of Scranton, Cinderella’s Closet is an annual event that occurs in April at the Scranton Cultural Center. The event helps high school girls have an opportunity to go to the prom in a dress of their choice and feel like the “belle of the ball” — all for less than $10.
With the cost of formal attire increasing, students and parents are likely to have difficulty affording this important night. The junior league believes students shouldn’t suffer the consequences of these growing prices.
Dresses should be of modern style, clean and in good condition — no 80s dresses please. Cinderella’s Closet also accepts formal footwear, jewelry and hair accessories. Bring back your dresses after Spring Break! Donations can be dropped off in The Community Outreach Office now through Wednesday, March 31. Our office is located in DeNaples 205B. For more information, contact Ellen Judge at judgee2@scranton.edu.
