NPEC Employment Fair Scheduled March 23
Worried about getting a job or internship? Visit the NPEC Employment Fair slated for Tuesday, March 23, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre.
The fair will be attended by employers from several areas including business, education, health care (OT/PT/Nursing), human services and industry. Come meet employers, establish business contacts and submit your resume.

End of the Year Drive Information Session
End of the Year Drive is the Community Outreach Office's large-scale donation event that involves collecting, sorting and donating anything students would normally throw out at the end of the year. Volunteers are needed during finals week and the week following finals week.

Joseph P. Gallagher Memorial Scholarship Accepting Applications
Attention: All students who are juniors and seniors in the academic year 2010-11 whose parent’s employer is a current member of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, applications for the Joseph P. Irving Grossman Scholarship Applications Now Available
The Irving Grossman Scholarship is open to all students who meet The University of Scranton’s scholarship criteria. The scholarship will be awarded to the student based on merit, financial need, participation in extracurricular and community service activities, and demonstrates personal impact on fellow student. Applications are available in The Financial Aid Office. The deadline is Thursday, April 15.
Course for Participants in Service/Study Programs
Have you had the experience of spending time among the economically disadvantaged? Do you seek ways of integrating what you experienced into your life, your major and your future career?
INTD 284 Integrating Your Immersion Experience, to be offered for the first time in Fall 2010, will provide the opportunity for students to reflect on, process and analyze what they have experienced in a variety of ways, leading to the development of an action plan. It may be taken for one or three credits, and assignments will vary based on the number of credits chosen.
To be eligible, students must have completed either a service trip of at least one full week, or a relevant study abroad course or program between June 2009 and August 2010. Theology Honor Society Seeks New Members
Undergraduate or graduate students who meet the established criteria are invited to apply for membership in The University of Scranton chapter of Theta Alpha Kappa, the National Honor Society for Religious Studies/Theology. Criteria include the completion of 12 credits in Theology/Religious Studies with the average of all your theology courses at least 3.5 and your overall GPA at least 3.0.

Gallagher Koster Now Accepting Scholarship Applications
Gallagher Koster is proud to announce that applications are being accepted for the 2010 Gallagher Koster Health Careers Scholarship Program. All eligible full-time undergraduate students majoring in a healthcare-related field, beginning their third or fourth year (of a four-year program) in Fall 2010, are encouraged to apply.
Since 2001, 40 students have received this annual award to continue their studies toward a career in a healthcare-related field. As the program has continued to expand, additional awards and increased award amounts have been added to reflect Gallagher Koster's commitment to students. This year, there will be five awards available, each in the amount of $5,000.
The Health Careers Scholarship Program Application is available online, and is to be filled out directly on our website, http://www.gallagherkoster.com. All eligibility information, supplemental materials and frequently asked questions can also be found on the Web site. Please note that there are no paper copies available — all information is online only.
The application deadline is May 17.

Summer/Fall 2010 Registration Information for Undergraduate Students and Advisors
Registration for Summer and Fall 2010 courses will begin for undergraduate students the beginning of April. Specific dates, as well as what students need to do in preparation for registration advising and to register by web, can be found in the e-mail sent to students and also on the Registrar’s Web page, www.scranton.edu/registrar.
What do undergraduate students need to do now?
First, pick up your registration materials at the following locations, on or after February 17:
- KSOM students at the KSOM Advising Center (Brennan Hall 206)
- PCPS students at the PCPS Advising Center (McGurrin Hall 101)
- CGCE students at the CGCE Office (O'Hara Hall 201)
- CAS sophomores, juniors and seniors at the Registrar's Office (St. Thomas Hall 301).
- CAS freshmen: The CAS Advising Center has set up an advising appointment for you. Pick up your appointment letter, along with your CAPP and registration forms, in the CAS Advising Center (St. Thomas 309).
Second, make and keep an advising appointment at your advising center or with your faculty advisor. [Special note to CAS freshmen: Since an advising appointment has already been made for you, you just need to pick up your appointment letter in the CAS Advising Center.]
Third, complete your registration worksheets and forms and then meet with your advisor to review your course selections. Your advisor will then provide you with your registration start date and term PIN needed to access web registration. [Note: You will also need your correct UIS PIN. If you do not know your UIS PIN, you may access the online self-service PIN reset program, or contact the Technology Support Center at 941-4357 prior to your initial date of registration.]
Fourth, be sure to clear any holds you may have on your account from the Bursar, Student Affairs, Library, Network Resources or Public Safety before your registration start date so that you can access the web registration system. Students who have holds on their account will not be able to register until they satisfy their obligations.
Web registration instructions, dates and course listings, as well as the dynamic Course Schedule Search, are available through the Registrar’s web page at www.scranton.edu/registrar A listing of general education courses can also be found online at http://matrix.scranton.edu/academics/gelist.shtml.

Ireland Scholarship Available
Are you from Northeastern Pennsylvania? Are you planning to study abroad in Ireland during the 2010 Fall or Spring Semesters?
Apply for the Dr. John H. Corcoran Scholarship for Study in Ireland sponsored by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Lackawanna County. In 1984, the Friendly Sons established a perpetual scholarship fund to finance academic study in Ireland by a college student. Since its inception, the scholarship has been given in alternate years to a student from The University of Scranton and Marywood University.

Scholarship recipients must spend at least one semester at a college-level institution in Ireland and, upon return, discuss their experiences in Ireland with the executive committee of the Friendly Sons. The scholarship winner is chosen based on a GPA of 3.0 or above, services, activities, interests and work experience, and a personal statement and essay.
Since 1984, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick has donated $42,000 to The University of Scranton through the scholarship program. Applications are available in the International Programs & Services Office located at 5110 Communications Wing, St. Thomas Hall.

The National Survey of Student Engagement Open
The Institutional Research Office is administering the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) this spring. The web-based survey is administered to a random sample of freshmen and seniors. The goal of the survey is to help the University maintain and improve institutional effectiveness. The results will be available in late summer 2010 and a results analysis will be available in fall of the same year.
