Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in the DeNaples Center (Cash or Royal Card) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, through March 10, from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased Thursday, March 11, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and during the evening March 2, 3, 9 and 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. (Royal Card not accepted during evening hours.)

The Gilman International Scholarship is pleased to announce the opening of the Fall 2010 online application.

The eligibility requirements are as follows:

• Enrolled as an undergraduate student at a two-four U. S. Institution
• United States citizen
• Receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of study abroad
• Participating in a study abroad program that is no less than 4 weeks and no more than an academic year
• Receiving academic credit
• Study in any country not currently under U.S. State Department Travel Warning and Cuba

Deadline for submission is April 6. 

Recommendations for the 2010-2011 Peter S. Graybar Memorial Scholarship are being solicited. The scholarship will provide assistance for students entering their junior year next fall.

Recommendation forms and information sheets are available at http://matrix.scranton.edu/docs/graybar_scholarship.doc, or at the Financial Aid Office at 401 St. Thomas Hall. The deadline is Friday, March 26.

The Center for Health Education and Wellness (CHEW) will host the Safe Spring Break Fair Wednesday, March 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the McIlhenny Ballroom in the DeNaples Center. Join us for free food and great prizes, including an iPod touch. Registration for Summer and Fall 2010 courses will begin for undergraduate students the beginning of April. Specific dates, as well as what students need to do in preparation for registration advising and to register by web, can be found in the e-mail sent to students and also on the Registrar’s Web page, www.scranton.edu/registrar.
 

First, pick up your registration materials at the following locations, on or after February 17:  

• KSOM students at the KSOM Advising Center (Brennan Hall 206)
• PCPS students at the PCPS Advising Center (McGurrin Hall 101)

• CGCE students at the CGCE Office (O'Hara Hall 201)
• CAS sophomores, juniors and seniors at the Registrar's Office (St. Thomas Hall 301).
• CAS freshmen: The CAS Advising Center has set up an advising appointment for you.
 Pick up your appointment letter, along with your CAPP and registration forms, in the
 CAS Advising Center (St. Thomas 309).



Second, make and keep an advising appointment at your advising center or with your faculty advisor. [Special note to CAS freshmen: Since an advising appointment has already been made for you, you just need to pick up your appointment letter in the CAS Advising Center.]



Third, complete your registration worksheets and forms and then meet with your advisor to review your course selections. Your advisor will then provide you with your registration start date and term PIN needed to access web registration. [Note: You will also need your correct UIS PIN. If you do not know your UIS PIN, you may access the online self-service PIN reset program, or contact the Technology Support Center at
941-4357 prior to your initial date of registration.]
 

Fourth, be sure to clear any holds you may have on your account from the Bursar, Student Affairs, Library, Network Resources or Public Safety before your registration start date so that you can access the web registration system. Students who have holds on their account will not be able to register until they satisfytheir obligations.

Are you from Northeastern Pennsylvania? Are you planning to study abroad in Ireland during the 2010 Fall or Spring Semesters?

Apply for the Dr. John H. Corcoran Scholarship for Study in Ireland sponsored by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Lackawanna County. In 1984, the Friendly Sons established a perpetual scholarship fund to finance academic study in Ireland by a college student. Since its inception, the scholarship has been given in alternate years to a student from The University of Scranton and Marywood University. 

Scholarship recipients must spend at least one semester at a college-level institution in Ireland and, upon return, discuss their experiences in Ireland with the executive committee of the Friendly Sons. The scholarship winner is chosen based on a GPA of 3.0 or above, services, activities, interests and work experience, and a personal statement and essay.

Since 1984, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick has donated $42,000 to The University of Scranton through the scholarship program. Applications are available in the International Programs & Services Office located at 5110 Communications Wing, St. Thomas Hall.

The Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. Scholarship for Diversity in Engineering & Information Technology is designed to promote the engineering and information technology profession to individuals from groups historically under-represented in these fields. The program has two facets:|

• Through scholarship aid, Air Products hopes to help assist the recipient students to successfully complete their degrees and do so in a timely fashion without financial strain.
• Scholarship recipients will receive consideration for internships and for employment following graduation.

Amount of Award: 

The scholarship program allows for one scholarship of $7,500 to be applied toward tuition and fees beginning in the 2010-11 academic year. Air Products intends to renew the award for one year (2011-12) provided the recipient maintains appropriate academic standards.

Full-time undergraduate students majoring only in:

• chemical engineering
• mechanical engineering
• information technology (computer science, management information systems (MIS) and IST)
• Will be enrolled as a JUNIOR in Fall of 2011
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Women and /or members of the following minority groups — American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander
• Accepted at, or currently attending one of 85 member colleges and universities of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania.
