Admissions Office Seeks Student Workers
Spring: Monday through Friday, 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Summer: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.

The Making a Difference in Nursing Scholarship Fund
Sharon Hudacek, professor of nursing, and her husband established this fund to assist LPN students to offset tuition charges at The University of Scranton. The scholarship is funded from book royalties and community donations that support nursing educations. We have recently been fortunate to receive funding from Northeast Golf Charities (Nationwide Golf Tournament — Glenmaura Country Club).
Applications are available in the Nursing Department and in The Financial Aid Office. The scholarship deadline is Monday, Feb. 22.
Weinberg seeks two TechCons
There are currently two TechCon positions open, in Digitization and Library Outreach. AICPA Scholarship Opportunities Available
• AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship — a joint program with Accountemps, awarding five $2,500 scholarships to students pursuing a degree in accounting, finance or information systems.
• John L. Carey Scholarship — $5,000 scholarships for up to 10 liberal arts or other non-business related degree holders preparing to enter a graduate accounting program.
• AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students — financial awards of up to $5,000 for undergraduate and graduate minority accounting students.
• AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students — up to $12,000 for nearly 20 full-time minority accounting doctoral students.

Hosts for Royal Nights
The Royal Nighters will arrive on a Sunday between 3-4:30 p.m. and participate in planned activities that evening. On Monday, they will attend classes and leave in the late afternoon. We are looking for students who live on campus to host these guests in their rooms. Hosts meet students when they arrive on Sunday afternoon, have the option to participate in the different activities that evening, provide sleeping space, and help direct Royal Nighters to checkout on Monday afternoon. Hosts can be as involved with their Royal Nighter as they choose. Plus, you will receive two free movie tickets for each weekend you host.

Indoor Recreational Rosters Due
Rosters for outdoor intramurals will be accepted until Wednesday, March 10, at 11 p.m. Outdoor leagues include co-rec softball, men's and women's soccer and co-rec ultimate frisbee. Outdoor activities will begin after spring break.

The Programming Board’s Coffeehouse will host its first event of the semester, featuring Philadelphia singer-songwriter Matt Duke, on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 8 p.m. in the DeNaples Center’s Theater. The first 50 people in attendance receive free T-shirts. Free food is also available. Will Grogan, student government vice president, will also feature Duke live on his WUSR radio show from 8-10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Who is eligible: This scholarship is open to all full time undergraduate students attending one of AICUP’s 84 institutions who are enrolled in a Nursing or Physician’s Assistant program. The student must also have at least a 3.0 GPA. Candidates should also be campus leaders and community volunteers.

Who is eligible: This scholarship is open to all full time undergraduate students attending one of AICUP’s 85 institutions, who has an extraordinary commitment to community service and who has demonstrated creativity in shaping his/her volunteer activities.
How to apply: Application forms are available at the Financial Aid Office. Return completed applications to your financial aid office for submission to AICUP. Please note that students should not send applications directly to AICUP- they will not be accepted.
Deadline to apply: All applications must be returned to your Financial Aid Office for submission to AICUP by April 6, 2010.

Foreign Language National Honor Society enrolling new members
Requirements are the following:
— For full membership, two consecutive A or A-'s in language courses (in the same language) at the Composition and Conversation (311-312) level or above.
— For associate membership, two consecutive B+'s or better in language courses (in the same language) at the Composition and Conversation (311-312) level or above, or a noteworthy academic record in more than one language. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
All applications are individually screened. Only completed semester grades are considered. Application forms are available from Joyce Knott, Department Secretary, 301 O'Hara Hall, as well as from departmental faculty.
The induction ceremony and luncheon are scheduled for Tuesday, May 4, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the DeNaples Center 405.
Inductees will receive their certificates of membership and society pins; graduating seniors will receive their gold honors cords.
Deadline for applications and payment of fee is Tuesday, April 20. The membership fee of $50 — cash or check — includes the luncheon. Applications without fees will not be considered. Please make checks to the University of Scranton and leave completed applications with Knott.
Fees will be returned to those students not accepted for membership.
