BASTA! STOP! Hot Cocoa Social Set for Feb. 12

BASTA! STOP! is the theme of the annual Hot Cocoa Social Friday, Feb. 12. Due to its popularity, this event, which first took place two years ago as the Office of Equity & Diversity Open House, has taken on a life of its own.

On the heels of Dr King’s celebration, situated in the middle of Black History Month, heralding both International Women’s Day (March 8) and International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (March 21), the BASTA!STOP!  theme seems fitting to bring the entire University Community as well as friends and family from Lackawanna and surrounding counties to say a collective BASTA!STOP! to: harassment, discrimination, hate, racism, unfair treatment, and gender-based violence.

You are invited to come in from the cold and ‘lend a hand’ while you enjoy some hot cocoa and participate in a great event.

The social is in the Office of Equity & Diversity, St. Thomas Hall, Suites 471, 472, 473, 474. For more information, contact: Rosette Adera, Director, Office of Equity & Diversity, at 941-6645 or e-mail Diversity@scranton.edu
