IT Matters Winter 2009 Edition

The newest edition of IT Matters, a newsletter focused on the developments and activities of the Information Resources Division is now available.  With rapid changes, we realize that there is a need to create an ongoing method of keeping our community up to date.  IT Matters will provide our faculty, staff and students with information on current applications, planned changes to technologies and new initiatives.  The Winter edition can be found at http://www.scranton.edu/it-matters.

Wyoming Seminary Performing Arts Institute Civic Symphony Orchestra

     The Wyoming Seminary/PAI Civic Symphony Orchestra will present "A 10th ANNIVERSARY SHOWCASE" celebrating ten years of symphonic music PRESENTED free of charge to audiences in northeast Pennsylvania.  Founded in 1999 by the orchestra's music director and conductor, Jerome Campbell, this showcase program will have two area performances. The performance will be at The University of Scranton Houlihan/McLean Center on Tuesday, December 8 at 7:30.
The featured work is a concerto for both oboe and alto saxophone, composed and performed by woodwind virtuoso, Thomas Heinze. This concerto, "Three for Two by One" is a major work that takes its thematic materials through a stylistic journey that includes Celtic overtones, jazz treatments and a wild finale laced with Latin rhythm and color.
