2009 DAVID A. LONG SCHOLARSHIP

$2,000
AMERICAN WATER WORKS ASSOCIATION
PENNSYLVANIA SECTION

The Pennsylvania Section of the AWWA encourages study in fields
relating to the water supply industry and is offering $2,000
scholarships to eligible students. Students are eligible to apply if:
1.    They have completed one semester of the college junior year or
they are a college senior or graduate level student.
2.    They are pursuing or planning to pursue a degree in
engineering, biology, chemistry, business administration or other
field which may lead to a career in the water supply industry.
3.    They are attending a Pennsylvania college or maintain a
permanent residence in Pennsylvania.

Summer Study Abroad in Florence Italy

Drs. Virginia Picchietti and Marzia Caporale of the Department of World
Languages and Cultures are happy to announce the Summer Study Abroad in
Florence, Italy, in June 2010. Students will enroll in courses and live
in Florence for the duration of the program. The program will also
include day trips to other exciting Italian destinations. Applicants
must be in good standing at the University of Scranton and must meet GPA
requirements.  Applications due on or before December 1. For more

Residence Hall Thanksgiving Schedule

On Campus Houses, Apartments and Residence Halls Close on Wednesday,
November 25 at Noon for Thanksgiving Break.
On Campus Housing re-opens on Sunday, November 29 at Noon.

Dining Information -
The Fresh Food Company (3rd Floor of DeNaples) closes on Tuesday,
November 24 at 2:30 p.m. and re-opens on Sunday, November 29 at  4:45 p.m.
The 1st floor Food Court and Convenience Store closes on Wednesday,
November 25  at 2:00 p.m. and opens on Sunday, November 29 at 4:00 p.m..

All residents are required to complete the following closing procedures -
*Clean your room (i.e. remove trash/clean out personal refrigerators).
*Remove any items that may spoil over break (i.e. milk, bread, etc.).
*Close and lock all windows.
*Pull down and close blinds.
*Turn off all lights.
*Close and lock room door.
*Last person to leave, sign the "We're Outta Here" form and place on the
outside of the door.

Residents are not permitted to stay on campus during the Thanksgiving

The monetary equivalent of your donated swipe will benefit the Leahy
Community Health and Family Center food pantry.

USPB Royal Ball

Join us to dance the night away at the Royal Ball – Saturday, November 21st from  7 p.m. till 11 p.m. in the McIlhenny Ballroom, 4th floor DeNaples Ballroom. This year's theme is 'Under the Sea'. USPB Mission & Identity

USPB Mission and Identity along with many other University organizations present Post Secret: An Evening with America's Most Trusted Stranger. This is a FREE event to the University of Scranton Community. The Educational Lecture will be held in the McIlhenny Ballroom, 4th floor DeNaples Center from 7:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. Frank shares the inspirational and funny stories behind some of the quarter million secrets he's received on postcards. Refer to the News & Notes section of our homepage or the Announcements section on my.scranton for ticket information. Tuition Raffle

The University of Scranton Seniors Programmers would like to remind you that the Tuition Raffle is still going on!  Entries can be purchased and sent in until Friday November 20th.  The winning raffle ticket will be pulled during Christmas on the Commons on Sunday November 29th.  Contact the USPB office in the DeNaples Student Forum 205Q X 6233 or Analiese Crosby at crosbya2@scranton.edu for more information or to obtain more raffle tickets.

Information Session on Alternative Spring Break Trips

The Community Outreach Office will be conducting an information session on Thursday, November 19 from 12-12:45 p.m. in the Moskovitz Theater, 4th Floor DeNaples for Alternative Spring Break Trips (3/13-3/20).  Trips this year are being planned for SanDiego CA, Chicago IL, Philadelphia PA and KY.  Volunteers will be doing work with homeless outreach, housing rehab, at risk youth, and social justice issues.  Applications will be handed out at the meeting and participants will chosen by lottery.  Items of discussion will be costs, transportation, waivers, fundraising, etc.  For more information, please contact Pat Vaccaro at vaccarop1@scranton.edu or by stopping by The Community Outreach Office, DeNaples 205B.
 

SIFE To Host "Ethics in Advertising" Seminar

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) will be hosting an "Ethics in
Advertising" Seminar on Friday, November 20th  from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  A panel of guests from the advertising industry  will speak to students about
ethical decisions facing advertising industry.  The event will take place in the Moskovitz Theater, DeNaples Center room 401.  All are invited to attend this event
