October 27, 2009: Faculty/Staff News

IT Forum

The next IT Forum for the Fall 2009 semester is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 11:30am to 1:00pm in Brennan Hall, Room 509. As part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, this forum will focus on Information Security for both your office and home computers.

Do you know what PII is?
Do you know when you should use IE and when to use Firefox?
Can you afford to be without your computer for days or even weeks if it becomes infected with a virus or spyware?
Do you store your important files on RoyalDrive?
Do you use TrueCrypt to protect your USB Flash Drive?
Is your home computer protected when you web surf or make purchase online?

If you answered “No” to one or more of the above, you NEED to attend this IT Forum. You’ll learn the top 10 things EVERY University employee needs to know to protect the valuable work you do every day. In addition, we’ll show you free tools you can use at home to keep your computer safer for online bill paying and holiday shopping. All members of our community are encouraged to attend. Lunch will be served. You might also win one of several prizes!

Registration is required by emailing ITServices@scranton.edu
