The University of Scranton Bestows Annual John L. Earl Award

Dr. Conover joined The University of Scranton’s faculty in 1978 and was promoted to professor in 1993. He received the University Award for Teaching in 1992.
A resident of Clarks Summit, Dr. Conover has researched the origins of names of numerous places and towns in Lackawanna County. He holds both a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of science degree from the Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree and doctorate from Montana State University.
The Earl Award was presented to Dr. Conover at a University Convocation earlier this semester.
