Royal News
Royal News is an electronic publication produced throughout the year for The University of Scranton community by the Marketing Communications Division. It highlights University, student, faculty and staff news and events.
Distributed Tuesdays, the e-newsletter is sent weekly to:
• students
• faculty
• staff
• subscribed parents
Royal News is also distributed on the first Tuesday of each month to alumni who have shared their email addresses with the University.
Royal News can also be accessed via our mobile app.
These are the only recipient groups who can receive our Royal News e-newsletters via email at this time, however, all content is available to the public via its companion website at www.scranton.edu/royalnews.

The following is an overview of the various sections of our Royal News homepage and corresponding e-newsletter:
News Releases News Releases
This section is reserved for University press releases from the Public Relations Office and major news stories submitted to Royal News. The releases can be browsed by topic on the Royal News website by making a selection in the dropdown box at the top of the page.
Announcements Announcements
The University community can submit announcements highlighting events, initiatives, new services and general news information to the Royal News editor. Announcements can be searched by audience (General, Students, Faculty and Staff, and Alumni) on both the e-newsletter and the website. To submit an announcement, email royalnews@scranton.edu.
Billboard Events Billboard Events
Billboard Events are major on-campus events (Orientations, Preview Days, major performances, etc.) pulled from the University’s Calendar. The Public Relations Office and University Calendar editors select and publish these events.
Royal News Events Royal News Events
This section features the next five upcoming on-campus events such as lectures, films, presentations and activities. The list is updated daily on the Royal News website. When you click on “View All Royal News Events,” users are linked to a page listing Royal News events for the most recent period. To be listed in Royal News Events, select the “Royal News” category when you submit an event to the University’s Calendar or submit the event to royalnews@scranton.edu.
Royal Making Headlines Royal Making Headlines
This section includes links to news articles on the web that feature University students, faculty or staff or significant University news. These items include everything from an alumni garnering recognition to an article highlighting a campus event or activity. To submit a news item, email royalnews@scranton.edu.
Featured Videos Featured Videos
This section promotes two featured or recently uploaded videos from the University’s YouTube Channel.

- If you are an alumnus or parent of a current student you can subscribe to Royal News, by sending your name and email address to royalnews@scranton.edu.
- To submit an announcement or news item for Royals Making Headlines, email royalnews@scranton.edu.
- All submissions must be received by Friday at 5 p.m. for inclusion the following Tuesday. News items can also be mailed to our physical address, 800 Linden Street,Scranton, PA, 18510. Please address to the attention of "Royal News, University Editor."
- To be listed as a Royal News Event, when you submit an event to the University’s Calendar, designate it as a “Royal News” item. Events can also be submitted to royalnews@scranton.edu.
