Bernadetta Bernatowicz is a Biology Major in the Honors Program. Her research focuses on odor imprinting in vitro, or how odor stimulation influences the development of structural neuronal proteins and functional properties of cultured avian olfactory cells. She was awarded the Presidential University Summer Fellowship in 2011 and plans on going into Veterinary Medicine.
Jonathan Schall is a Biology major in the Honors Program. His research focuses on the role of plasma lipids and the retinal pigment epithelium on neuronal and photoreceptor growth in the retina, and how these lipds and the epithelium could protect the retina from the effects of oxidative stress-induced damage. He was awarded the Presidential University Summer Fellowship in 2012.
Brad Wierbowskii is a BCMB major who works both in my lab and in the lab of Dr. Timothy Foley. Brad is interested in studying cell adhesion molecules. He was awarded a Goldwater Scholarship in 2012, and plans to go to graduate school for a Ph.D.
