- University Response to Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy left unprecedented destruction across several states. Many of our alumni live in areas that were significantly affected by the storm, and we want to support you during this difficult time. Over 1,000 students and 6,500 Scranton Alumni currently live in designated disasters counties in NJ, NY, and CT.
The Alumni Relations Office is working closely with the Office of Student Affairs and the Center for Service & Social Justice, which are coordinating the student volunteer response from the University. As specific outreach efforts are identified, we will provide additional information. In typical Scranton fashion, members of our campus and alumni Scranton community are asking about ways in which they can help. Alumni interested in volunteering or coordinating volunteer efforts should fill out the volunteer form.
Finally, our thoughts and prayers remain with our students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff and all the communities that are recovering from this profound disaster.
