    Thomas Grech ‘84

      Born in Manhattan and raised in Rockville Centre, NY; Tom lives in Malverne, NY with his wife and their daughter and son. 

      Tom is a 1984 graduate of the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA with a BS in Accounting and received his MBA in International Business in 1993 from Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY. His career has spanned the printing and publishing industries over the past 20 years with RR Donnelley and Sons Company and www.xlibris.com  

      Until 2011, Tom was a Supply Chain Executive with SONY DADC.  His other interests include investing and managing multi-family real estate, adviser to both for-profit and non-profit boards and teaching Entrepreneurship and Small Business as an adjunct professor at Farmingdale State College.  He is Founder and Principal of The Peritus Group, LLC, a sales development and marketing consulting firm.  Currently, Tom is Managing Director at JJT Energy, a natural gas and electric energy supplier.

    Martina A. Martin '80

      Martina Martin is Chief Administrative Officer at United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) where she leads Strategic Planning, Governance, Human Resources and Auxiliary Services. She has previously led Marketing, Regional Development, 2-1-1, Volunteer Development and Government Affairs. 

      Prior to arriving in Baltimore in 1996, Martina spent 11 years at United Way of America (UWA) (AKA “United Way Worldwide”), a national association, serving in management positions helping United Ways and Fortune 500 companies nationwide and United Ways worldwide, with fundraising, marketing and community relations.  She was part a team that created the first marketing function at UWA and led its first national marketing efforts. She has a background in nonprofit management, strategic planning, marketing and training. She has authored and contributed to many national United Way publications and educational programs. Martina also worked in two Pennsylvania United Ways and had an early career in public relations and advertising with Bill Donovan Communications in Scranton.

      Selected as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women three times, Martina is a graduate of Leadership Maryland and the Greater Baltimore Committee's Leadership Program.  She serves on the State of Maryland Health & Human Services Referral Board and chairs Strategic Planning for Peace Players International, a Washington, D.C.-based organization. She is President-Elect of the Alumni Board of Governors of the University of Scranton. A former Maryland Nonprofits (MANO) Board officer, Martina currently serves on its National Standards for Excellence and National Ethics Standards Committees.   

      Martina has also served on local boards and committees focused on nonprofit development, ethics and accountability, conflict resolution, volunteerism and education. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Scranton where she was 2005 recipient of its Frank J. O’ Hara Award for Community Service. Martina and her husband, Don Struke, live in Baltimore with their son and daughter.

    Col. Richard Henley Breen Jr. '77

      Colonel Breen earned a bachelor's degree in communications from The University of Scranton, and master's degrees in administrative management from Central Michigan University and television production from Loyola Marymount University. In his position as Commander of the Soldiers Media Center, Office of the Chief of Public Affairs at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., he is responsible for all print, Web, broadcast and outreach communications for the U.S. Army around the world. Col. Breen has nearly 30 years of active service as a signal corps and public affairs officer in the Army, and has served in several states and countries. He was the senior Army and Department of Defense spokesperson at the Pentagon on site for the first three weeks following the attacks of 9/11. He is married to Lt. Col. Lorraine Breen.

      Patrick Morgan is currently Chief of Staff to the Deputy Mayor for Environmental and Community Resources with the City of Philadelphia.  His responsibilities include public affairs, policy development, and strategic planning for the Department of Parks & Recreation and the Free Library of Philadelphia.  

      Previously, Patrick served as a member of the City of Philadelphia’s Performance Management Team in the Managing Director's Office.  Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Performance Management Team was charged with implementing City-wide performance improvements and measures.  His primary responsibilities included serving as Project Manager for the Philly311 project.  Philly311 is the City’s first-ever non-emergency 3-1-1 customer service contact center.  Additional, Patrick has published articles and case studies for the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and other professional journals. 

      Patrick graduated cum laude from the University of Scranton and went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania earning his Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) and Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed) degrees.  He has also completed coursework as part of the Brookings Institution’s Executive Education Program in Washington, DC.  Currently, Patrick is active in many civic and community organizations, including the Friends of Red Cross Leadership Council, Leadership Philadelphia Core Program, and Secretary for the Alumni Board of Governors at the University of Scranton.

    Paul W. Lameo '94

      A 1994 graduate of the School of Management with a major in Accounting, Paul joined the Alumni Board of Governors in January 2005. Prior to that he was active in the local New York Club as treasurer for seven years. While at The University of Scranton, Paul was involved in a number of on-campus activities while serving as the vice president of Student Government. Paul is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and New Jersey who began his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1994. He is currently a partner in PwC's New York office specializing in the Banking and Capital Markets Practice. Paul is also active in PwC's recruiting program at The University of Scranton. Paul, a native of Scranton, graduated from Scranton Central High School in 1990 and currently resides in Summit, New Jersey with his wife Laura ('95), and children Matthew (2006), Kristina (2008) and Andrew (2011).

    John F. Lanahan, Esq. ‘84

      One of three siblings to attend the University of Scranton, John is the twin brother of Kevin J. Lanahan '84, who is a Past President of the Alumni Society. In 2010, he will be the first sibling of a Past President to serve as President of the Alumni Society. John has served as Associate General Counsel for the Weichert Family of Companies since 2003. After graduating law school, Mr. Lanahan was in private practice for more than ten years before joining Hanover Capital Mortgage Holdings, a publicly traded real estate investment trust company, as its first general counsel. He is past president of the New Jersey Club, and has served on the Board of the Alumni Society since 2001. A University of Scranton Class of '84 alumnus, John earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and later earned a Juris doctorate from Vermont Law School in 1987. He resides in New Jersey with his wife and three children, and he serves on his Parish Council and coaches basketball and soccer.
