Thank you for taking the time to apply to The University of Scranton. Please review the information below before you begin Scranton's online application. Please note that you only need to choose one of these online applications, and there are no fees for any of them. You may click on a link below to get started. No paper applications are accepted.
Online Applications Application Requirements Graduate Students
International students must submit the following in order to have their graduate application processed:- Completed on-line application form
- Official academic transcripts
- 3 letters of recommendation
- Certificate of finances/ scholarship letter: You may submit a certificate of finances and bank statement or a scholarship letter.
- Proof of English proficiency
- Applicants to the MBA Program must also submit official GMAT scores. Students with 3 or more years of documented, related work experience may be eligible to complete a case study in lieu of the GMAT. To be eligible, applicants must submit official proof of English proficiency scores of 80 ibt TOEFL or 6.5 overall band IELTS score in addition to their official work experience. The MBA program director will review your academic transcript, work experience, and English proficiency to determine your eligibility. Please note: International students should apply to the term that they will begin their graduate program. If you require an English transition program, please apply to The University of Scranton for the term in which your English transition program will be completed and you are ready to begin graduate coursework.

International Transfer Application Requirements
English Proficiency Applicants that are from non-English speaking countries are required to submit proof of English proficiency. Some academic programs require a higher proof of English proficiency. This proof can be achieved in a number of ways:
- Submission of an official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 61 on the Internet-based test or 500 on the paper-based test. These minimum scores may vary depending on the specific graduate program requirements.
- Submission of an official IELTS (International English Language Testing System) minimum score of Band 6.0. This minimum score can vary depending on the specific graduate program requirements.
- Submission of an official STEP (Society for Testing English Proficiency) score of at least Pre-1st grade. Some graduate programs may require a 1st grade score. This exam is offered exclusively to Japanese students by the Society for Testing English Proficiency.
- Attendance at an ELS Language Center with completion of Level 112 with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. This minimum GPA may vary depending on the specific graduate program requirements.
- Attendance at the English Language Institute at The University of Delaware with completion of academic Level 6 with grades of B or higher for undergraduate studies and B+ or higher for graduate studies.

Application Deadlines Graduate Application Deadlines
- June 1st: Application and all official documents due for admission into the fall term.
- November 1st: Application and all official documents due for admission into the spring term.
- March 1st: Application and all official documents due for admission into the summer term.
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy applicants have a deadline of February 1st.
- Counseling programs applicants have a deadline of March 1st.
- The following programs only begin in the fall term: Master of Health Administration, Master of Science in Software Engineering, Master of Science in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Clinical Chemistry (applications to the Chemistry programs may also be accepted for admission into the summer term.)
