Online Application Procedures
Students applying on-line to Scranton should submit the following:

  • On-line application
  • Official transcripts (with certified English translation) showing all secondary and post-secondary courses and grades
  • Official results of the TOEFL or IELTS and official results of the SAT I or ACT (optional)
    • The University of Scranton Codes SAT and TOEFL: 2929 ACT: 3736
  • Letter of recommendation from an instructor; Through Scranton's online application, you have the option to email the form directly to your instructor.
  • Certified confirmation of financial resources
  • Personal statement: Submit in the on-line application, email to cgce@scranton.edu or mail to the address below.
  • List of extracurricular activities (optional). Submit in the on-line application, email to cgce@scranton.edu or mail to the address below.

Application Deadlines
November 15 -- EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 1: Due to the impact Hurricane Sandy has had on our prospective students and their families, we are extending our Early Action application deadline to December 1. Early Action Early Action is a non-binding program for students who have a strong desire to attend The University of Scranton. We will mail Early Action admission decisions on December 15.
December 15: Regular Decision Application Review Begins Regular Decision applications will be reviewed after Early Action candidates have been notified. Once the completed application is received, it can take four to six weeks to process. Applicants will be notified on a rolling basis after December 15.
March 1: Preferred Application Deadline We accept qualified applicants on a rolling basis, but we strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible. Applications received after March 1 may not be reviewed if the class is full.
May 1: National Candidates’ Reply Date Admitted applicants must reserve their place in the fall class by this date. This is accomplished by submitting both the confirmation card provided in your acceptance packet and the appropriate fee. Admitted applicants may also submit their deposit online; instructions are included in your acceptance packet.

Scholarships
All accepted international students who submit official SAT I or ACT scores are evaluated for academic merit scholarships. No special applications are required. Students receiving merit scholarships will be notified of the amount in their acceptance letter. For more information on financial aid and scholarships, please click here.
