Boxes 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, & 18

The third series contains material documenting other sports at the University. Coverage of these sports is sporadic. Boxes 12 and 13 document tennis. There are a few photographs from the 1930s in Box 12 but most of the photographs and printed material date from the late 1960s through the early 1980s. Box 13 contains records of The University Tennis association from 1975 through 1982 (1976-77 missing) as well as other topics like the National junior Tennis League, Irish Tennis Team, National Tennis association correspondence, teaching aids, clinics, and equipment information.

Box 14 documents a variety of sports. There are five folders documenting the Track team from 1947-1955, there are 10 folders documenting cross country from 1947-1974 with gaps. Thirteen folders document golf from 1933-1974 with significant gaps, three folders contain soccer team information for the mid-1970's and two folders contain wrestling material from 1968-69 and 1973-74. Nine folders document baseball from 1953-1974 with gaps, four folders on swimming from 1935-1953 with gaps. Rifle, karate (1968-69), volleyball (1956-57) and women’s basketball (1980-81) each have one folder.

Box 15 contains a wide variety of miscellaneous material including award dinners, letterman (1942-65), 1973-74 correspondence, newsletters 1973-74, summer and winter recreation programs, publicity forms for cross country, rifle, golf, wrestling, basketball, and baseball, there is also one folder of “all-time football records.”

Box 16 contains material from 1973 through 1981 concerning tournaments and other non-University sports programs like the National Summer Youth Sports Program, Tip-Off Classic, PIAA Tennis, and other similar events.

Boxes 17 and 18 contain media guides, brochures, and related material covering various sports, including women’s sports, from the 1980s to 2000.
