Series 1 - World War II Era--1945-46 (1994)
This series consists of 42 items of correspondence and 42 photographs. The bulk of the correspondence dates from 1944-1946 and concerns Plotkin's experience at the Ohrdruf concentration camp and his experiences aiding Holocaust survivors and displaced persons. The Plotkin provide his reflections on the end of the war, the nature of the Nazi regime, the conditions of the camp and the conditions of the survivors. After the war he became involved in providing assistance to survivors. He wrote letters to American relatives of the survivors and also letters to his own relatives discussing the situation in Germany. He discusses attempts by survivors to rebuild their lives, the assistance provided by the United States Army, and that provided by various social service organizations. The photographs consist of images taken by Plotkin after the liberation of the camp, photographs of survivors and various periods after liberation, and a few more recent photographs related to Holocaust remembrance.

Series 2 - Holocaust Education--1980s-1990s
This series consists of material related to Plotkin's Holocaust education efforts. The bulk of material relates to various workshops that Plotkin attended primarily at Shippensburg College, information from the Holocaust Education Task Force, curriculum guides, correspondence related to Holocaust education material, bibliographies, material from the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C., and other related information. There are 37 folders in this series, including one folder of biographical information. Also included in this series is a collection of visual aids that Plotkin used in his Holocaust and tolerance lectures. There are items in this collection. They include mounted photographs and documents related to the Holocaust.
Series 3 - Easter Seals--1941-1997
This series consists of six folders related to Plotkin's activities with the Easter Seals. The material ranges in dates from 1941 through 1997. There are only a couple items from the 1940s. The bulk of material ranges from 1959 through 1997. Included in the material is correspondence, photographs, reports, meeting minutes, financial information, booklets and other related material.
Series 4 - Allied Services for the Handicapped--1957-60
This series consists of six folders related to Plotkin's activities with Allied Services for the Handicapped. The material ranges in dates from 1957 through 1961. Included in the material is correspondence, photographs, reports, meeting minutes, financial information, booklets and other related material.
