As the Instructional Technology and Enrichment Specialist in the CTLE, I am responsible for supporting multimedia technology in the teaching and learning environment. I manage a group of technologically savvy student technical consultants (TechCons) who assist faculty and students in the use of multimedia technology. In the CTLE there is an instructional lab that contains high-end software and hardware in an environment that is very well suited for collaboration. Some of the instructional technology services offered include: demonstration and instruction on technology that is available; assistance with ANGEL support and training; distance education support; web page development; creating E-Portfolios; enhancing PowerPoint presentations; scanning; audio/video digitizing and streaming services; instruction on how to use technology on campus and pedagogical resources. Faculty and students can stop by the lab or call and make an appointment.
I also assist in coordinating learning and enrichment opportunities for faculty and students. Among these are a Faculty Advancement Series, Instructional Technology Series and Lunch & Learn sessions.
Another component of my work involves the automation of logistics for other services provided through the CTLE, such as Tutoring, Testing Accommodations for Students with Disabilities, Reading and Writing.
