A program for adults who seek to develop administrative skills in the field of health administration.

1. There are a wide range of opportunities in healthcare management available to a student who has an Undergraduate certificate in Health Administration to include:
  • Middle management positions in hospitals, healthcare systems, and/or LTC facilities. These jobs can be overseeing purchasing, strategic planning, admissions and discharge, security, plant management to name a few.
  • There are also opportunities in the insurance industry with BC/BS, HMO's or private insurance carriers.
  • There are also government jobs with both the state and federal agencies that deal with the delivery of health care.
  • Areas such as physician practice management and the behavioral health sector also offer management opportunities.
 
2. The salary ranges for these entry level positions would be in the low to mid $40,000 range.
 
3. Students with a business experience or a science prior learning would best suite this certificate.

Students who complete the Certificate in Health Administration and wish to continue toward the associate or B.S. degree in Health Administration must have attained a 2.5 G.P.A.
