Division 29 APA Council Representatives John C. Norcross and Linda F. Campbell
Awarded APA Presidential Citations

The APA President has the authority to bestow eight citations from the 150,000 membership of APA during her or his presidential year. These citations are given to members who have made outstanding and distinguished contributions to the field. This year, President Melba Vasquez cited both of our APA Council Representatives, John C. Norcross and Linda F. Campbell among the awardees.  (9/6/2011)

Three Psychology faculty members (Dr. Jessica Nolan, Dr. John C. Norcross, and Dr. Carole Slotterback) were recognized in a recent edition of The Chronicle of Higher Education. (Spring 2011)

FACULTY ADDITIONS:

Dr. Jill A. Warker joined the department starting in the fall '11 semester.  She received her baccalaureate from Bucknell University and her doctorate in cognitive psychology from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was a postdoctoral researcher in the Language Production Lab at the University of California, San Diego. She teaches Cognitive Psychology, Fundamentals of Psychology, and Research Methods. Her research interests include learning, memory, language production, and language acquisition.

FACULTY RETIREMENTS:

Dr. Galen (Bud) L. Baril retired after the spring ‘08 semester after 33 years of service to the University.  He moved to South Carolina, where he built a retirement home.

Dr. John (Jack) J. O’Malley
retired after the spring ’09 semester after 41 years of service to the University.  He was a past chair of the department.  Dr. O’Malley received the University’s Teacher of the Year Award for 2009.  He still is teaching part-time with the department (History & Literature I and Sports Psychology).
