Psychology Student Clubs
The three department student organizations are the Psychology Club, Psi Chi, and the Association for Psychological Science Student Caucus (APSSC).
The Psychology Club is open to any student interested in psychology. Annual events include a freshman welcome picnic, a holiday dinner, community service projects, and social events in the department.
Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology. Each year Psi Chi hosts an induction dinner and plans a trip to a regional psychology convention.
APSSC coordinates the annual University of Scranton Psychology Research Conference, a meeting which typically draws over 200 registrants from more than 20 institutions from at least four regional states. In addition to the 50 or more paper presentations and various workshops, the conference also sponsors an address by a prominent psychologist. The APSSC also co-sponsors NEPA's Kids Judge! Neuroscience Fair and helps with the annual Brain Bee competition. As well, APSSC organizes monthly brown-bag sessions of What's News in Science, Medicine, and Technology.
