Concentrations and Interdisiplinary Programs

Concentrations and interdisciplinary programs are taught from different departments with a common topic. The courses in these programs can be used in majors, minors, cognate and general education requirements. The following links contain suggestions on how to fit concentrations in to the curriculum to reduce the number of credits a student needs for a concentration or program.

Often it is necessary to keep spaces open for electives in major, minors, cognate or general education requirements to allow the student to use them in a concentration or program. Students should be encouraged to plan their schedules with these requirements in mind.

Students with declared concentrations will have the requirements for the concentration on their CAPP reports. It is to the students' benefit to declare it as soon as possible. They should complete a Change of Curriculum form from the Registrars Office and obtain signatures from their advisor, the director of the concentration or program and the CAS Associate Dean.
