Robert W. Davis, Jr.

Robert W. Davis, Jr., was appointed Chief of Staff in 2011. In this role, he manages the essential administrative functions of the Office of the President and is responsible to the University President for a broad set of assignments related to the duties of the President including but not limited to direction and management of the President’s agenda and priorities. This includes special projects assigned by the President.
Bobby joined The University of Scranton in 2006 and has served in various capacities across campus. His previous roles include Area Coordinator and Assistant Director for Housing Operations in the Office of Residence Life. Most recently in the Division of University Relations, Mr. Davis was Assistant Director and then Director of the Pride, Passion, Promise Campaign that raised $129 million to support scholarships and capital projects at Scranton. Prior to joining the University, Bobby was a volunteer in the Alumni Service Corps at St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia. Bobby earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Philosophy in 2003 and a Master of Science in Biochemistry in 2010, both from The University of Scranton.

Judith A. Gunshannon
Secretary to the Board of Trustees and University SecretaryB.S., The University of Scranton
Since 1995 Judith has been a member of the President’s Office staff. She is currently the Secretary to the Board of Trustees and University Secretary. As Secretary to the Board she is the liaison between the President and the Trustees, prepares, organizes and records Trustee meetings and handles all Trustee matters. In her role as University Secretary she is a corporate officer performing duties such as signing and affixing the Corporate Seal to documents and preserving in books of the Corporation the minutes of the Board of Trustees meetings. In addition, she trains and supervises the President’s Office work study students. Prior to joining the University she worked for six years as a licensed real estate agent. She also spent three years working at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Tara M. Seely
Project CoordinatorA.A.S, Tompkins Cortland Community College
Tara has been employed at The University of Scranton since 1999. She coordinates special projects, events and lectures for the Office of the President and manages special student dinners and groups that meet with the President on a regular basis. In addition to her regular duties, Tara serves as the supervisor to the graduate assistant and provides administrative support to the office as required. A native of Ithaca, New York, Tara received her A.A.S. in Travel and Tourism from Tompkins Cortland Community College in 1994.

Maribeth Smith
Assistant to the PresidentMaribeth’s responsibilities include assisting the President in his duties and responsibilities and ensuring that the Office of the President is customer service oriented, organized and efficient. She prepares and schedules the President for events, meetings, communications and travel. In addition to her duties for the Office of the President, Maribeth instructs the Light Weights & Abs Class as part of the Employee Wellness Program for faculty and staff. Maribeth has been employed at the University since 2002.
